Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a small scale network system without using any exclusive network controller, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The SCSI interfeces 13 end 14 attached to the computers 11 and 12 are connected to each other vie an SCSI bus 15. A hard disk 16 and 8 magneto-optical disk 17 are connected to the computers 11 and 12 via the bus 15. The accesses are given to the disk 16, etc., via the device drivers 21 and 22 which are written in the computers 11 end 12. Both drivers 21 and 22 have the extended functions to monitor the bus 15, and the computers 11 and 12 can have the accesses to the disk 16, etc., only when the bus 15 is not busy. A network system of such a constitution can be extended with connection secured to another network 20 via an Ethernet controller 19.
