To inexpensively join both of high melting point metals or a high melting point metal and an oxide-based ceramic without breaking these members or requiring troublesome operation or deteriorating the high melting point metal by disposing a powder paste containing powder of the high melting point metal in undried state between both the high melting point metals or both members of the high melting point metal and the oxide-based ceramic and burning these members in an inert atmosphere.
When joining both of high melting point metals or both members of the high melting point metal and an oxide-based ceramic, a powder paste containing powder of the high melting point metal is disposed in undried state between both the members and then burned in an inert atmosphere to join the both members. The high melting point metal is preferably alloy Mo or metal W and the high melting point metal powder is preferably any of Mo, W or Mo-Mn. Mo-Mn paste 7 containing toluene as a solvent and containing PVA as a binder is applied onto an alloy Mo 2 and the alloy Mo 2 is superposed thereon and the paste is burned at 1450-1550°C in dried nitrogen atmosphere to completely join the both members.
