PURPOSE: To prevent lock arm damage by providing a flexible lock release operation wall provided with a lock engagement release surface engaged with the side part on the free end side of a lock arm.
CONSTITUTION: When a male connector 23 is inserted into an engaging hood 25, a lock arm 31 runs over a locking wall 51, and the type connector 23 is fitted to a female connector 27. In order to remove the male connector from the female connector 27, a pair of lock release operation walls 39 are pinched and deformed in a direction for approaching each other. When a pair of lock release walls 39 are deformed, the engaging piece part 37 of a lock arm 33 slides on a lock engagement release surface 43 and is guided downward. When the engaging piece part 37 is guided downward, the locking piece 37 is fitted in an engagement groove 45, and the lower surface side of the engaging piece part 37 comes into contact with a contact part 47. At this time, the lock arm 33 is deformed, and the engaged status of a locking protrusion 49 with a locking wall 51 is released. By removing the connector 23 from the fitting hood part 23 with this status being kept, the connector 23 can be easily removed.
