Title:
CONNECTOR FOR OPTICAL FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61213807
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate polishing the end face of an optical fiber by providing one or more holes, which ensures fixing of the fiber to a sleeve of a connector for optical fiber with a resin, besides a hole for fiber.

CONSTITUTION: A hole 2 from which resin is discharged is provided besides a hole 1 through which the optical fiber is inserted to the sleeve for the optical fiber connector. When the resin is flowed in from above after this sleeve is used to insert the optical fiber, air bubbles sealed up between the fiber and the sleeve are discharged from the resin discharge exit together with the resin, and there are no air bubbles between the fiber and the sleeve. The resin is solidified to adhere the fiber and the sleeve to each other firmly. When the lower end face of the sleeve is polished, the optical fiber is polished in the firmly fixed state to become a specular end face, and the sleeve is polished together with the discharged resin.
