To provide a consumption electrode arc welding method with which welding is performed using a welding wire composed of a low transformation temperature welding material to suppress welding deformation, one welding wire can cope with the situation even when welding conditions are different, production cost is reduced, and material management/welding work management can be simplified and facilitated, and consumption electrode arc welding equipment.
Two kinds of welding wires having different martensitic transformation starting temperatures are prepared. The welding wire having a higher martensitic transformation starting temperature is used as a consumption electrode wire W1, and the welding wire having a lower martensitic transformation starting temperature is used as a filler wire W2. The supply quantity of the filler wire is controlled in accordance with the supply quantity of the consumption electrode wire in such a manner that the ratio in the supply quantity between the consumption electrode wire and the filler wire becomes a beforehand set value, and welding is performed while controlling the martensitic transformation starting temperature in a weld metal.
