PURPOSE: To make it possible to accurately and quickly measure even a bottle of thin and flexible wall, by doing it in a noncontact manner using laser beam.
CONSTITUTION: A laser projector 4 and a light receiver 6 are arranged on the same straight line in such a manner that they face each other with a distance between them, and they are fixed onto a frame 3. A container 100 to be measured is placed between the projector 4 and the light receiver 6. When the frame 3 is shifted and a laser ray L is shielded by the container 100, both edges of the container 100 are detected by variation of light-receiving amount in the light receiver 6, and also, dimensions of the container 100 are measured from shifting distance of the frame 3 during this time.
