Advertisement data necessary for reproducing content data are recorded after setting validity thereto. When reproducing content data, advertisement data associated with the content data are acquired from an advertisement DB 4. Validity information of the acquired advertisement data is determined and when the validity expires, reproduction of content data for which reproduction of the advertisement data is required is prohibited. Furthermore, when the validity of advertisement data associated with contents expires, advertisement-updating information for associating advertisement data within the validity with the contents is acquired, and attribute information of contents is modified using the advertisement-updating information.
