Title:
CONTINIOUS SIGHTING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR VAPOR CONSTITUENTS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5255590
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
The method described is appliable to the continuous monitoring of a specific vapour, having a given electron capture coefficient, in a sample of air. A semi-permeable membrane is used to separate the vapour from the air. The vapour is then mixed with a carrier gas, either argon or helium, and it is passed into an electron capture detector and a universal detector. The electrical signals produced by these detectors are amplified separately and compared with threshhold levels. In this way binary signals are produced with arc applied to a logic circuit. The universal detector may be an argon ion detector, a helium ion detector, a hyper-frequency plasma emission detector, thermal conductivity detector, a photoionisation detector, etc..
