Abstract:
To provide a method of continuous casting adapted to improve the quality of cast slab furthermore.SOLUTION: A method of continuous casting is for carrying out continuous casting while giving an electromagnetic force for braking a discharge flow to a discharge flow of a molten metal from an immersion nozzle into a mold by an electromagnetic brake unit installed lower than an electromagnetic stirrer, together with giving an electromagnetic force to cause a swirl flow in a horizontal plane to a molten metal within the mold by an electromagnetic stirrer. The method of continuous casting is for controlling the ratio between a maximum value of a component in a mold-thickness direction of a flux density occurring on an inner wall surface of the mold by the electromagnetic stirrer and a maximum value of a component in a mold-thickness direction of a flux density occurring at a center position in the mold-thickness direction of the mold by the electromagnetic brake unit to a predetermined in-range value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
