To provide a method for continuously hydrocracking a polyester.
In the continuous hydrocracking method of polyester, a reaction solvent and a ruthenium complex catalyst is separated and recovered from a reaction liquid after subjecting polyester to hydrocracking and producing alcohols in the presence of the ruthenium complex catalyst and the reaction solvent. The continuous hydrocracking method of polyester comprises a process of distilling the reaction liquid and separating/recovering the reaction solvent and a process of adding an organic solvent to residue on distillation and extracting/separating/recovering the ruthenium complex catalyst. Therein, alcohol compounds can be efficiently obtained by recovering and reusing the reaction solvent and the catalyst.
