To provide a silicone polymer having a high heat stability wherein the content of residual catalysts or volatile substances in the final silicone polymer is small.
A continuous preparation process of a silicone polymer comprises continuous steps wherein (i) a linear, silanol group-containing siloxane is polymerized via polycondensation, a cyclosiloxane is polymerized via ring- opening polymerization or a mixture of the linear siloxane and cyclosiloxane is polymerized in the presence of water in a static mixer 10 in the presence or absence of a filler using a phosphazene base; (ii) the reaction mixture is neutralized in a static mixer, an inline mixer or an extruder; and (iii) a volatile substance used for stripping the neutralized reaction mixture is removed. Preferably, process (ii) is carried out in a static mixer, and process (iii) is carried out in a thin film stripper 24, an extruder or a co-rotating processor 34.
