Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent surface flaw on a steel slab and to solve such trouble as scale in a heating furnace in the following process.
SOLUTION: A cast slab is provided which contains 0.1-15 mass% the total composition of SiO2, CaO, MgO, Na2O and K2O in the furnace oxides. In a method of producing a continuously cast slab, casting powder containing ≤0.5 mass% S content as the component is used and/or the duration of a state where the surface temperature of the cast slab in a continuous caster is 1,000°C or higher is restrained to 3 min or shorter.
