PURPOSE: To produce a control cable improved in load transfer properties, reliability and durability by removing residual stress, work strain, distribution of twist, etc., due to a low-temperature heat stretch treatment from wires or strands and to provide its production method.
CONSTITUTION: This invented production method of a control cable is carried out by intertwisting many wires 1 or strands 5a and 5b, forming a cable 10a, 10b having a multifold structure, electrically plating 12a the obtained cable and subsequently applying a low-temperature heat stretch treatment (15a) at 220 to 280°C under a tensile load (T) of about 30 to 60% of the cable-breaking load (F). The objective control cable 10a, 10b produced by intertwisting many wires 1 or strands 5a and 5b so as to have a multifold structure, electrically plating the cable and subsequently applying a low-temperature heat stretch treatment exhibits ≥280kgf cable strength, 2.3 to 3.2% total elongation at breakage and 85 to 93% flexibility.
