Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit the lowering of the accuracy of abnormality determination of an exhaust emission purification catalyst 52 caused by the execution of a purge while executing the purge at a speed reduction fuel cut of an engine 1 when performing the abnormality determination of the exhaust emission purification catalyst 52 on the basis of a total amount of an excess amount of fuel with respect to a stoichiometric operation up to a change of an output value of an Osensor 56 which is not smaller than a prescribed value after transition to a normal operation from the speed reduction fuel cut of the engine 1.SOLUTION: An air-fuel ratio in a combustion chamber 6 of an engine 1 at a speed reduction fuel cut immediately before when a purge is executed at the immediately-before speed reduction fuel cut which is executed immediately before abnormality determination is estimated, and when the purge has been executed at the immediately-before speed reduction fuel cut, a threshold for determining an abnormality of an exhaust emission purification catalyst related to a total amount of an excess amount of fuel is changed on the basis of the estimated air-fuel ratio at the abnormality determination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
