Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize power by continuing an EV mode as long as possible by delaying starting of an engine when power which can be output from a power storage device is large.SOLUTION: Power required for starting an engine, a request power by a driver of a hybrid vehicle, power consumed in auxiliary machines, and power which can be output from a power storage device are determined (step S1). A first correction value of a positive value or a negative value is determined so that the value is made a smaller value as the determined power which can be output is larger and is made a larger value as the power which can be output is smaller (step S2). A first threshold value for starting the engine is determined so that the value becomes a larger value as the power which can be output is larger by subtracting the power required for starting the engine, the power consumed in the auxiliary machines and the first correction value from the power which can be output from the power storage device (step S3).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
