To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, capable of improving accuracy of the air/fuel ratio control of the internal combustion engine, especially the accuracy of the air/fuel ratio control at the cold startup, and is capable of being prevented from damaging the accuracy of the air/fuel control, even when a means for stabilizing the fuel at the cold startup is added.
This control device for the internal combustion engine is equipped with an intake pipe, a fuel injection valve for injecting the fuel into the intake pipe. The control device is further equipped with a basic fuel quantity calculating means, a means for calculating a wall flow rate, namely an attachment amount onto the intake pipe, a means for calculating the upper limiting value of the wall flow rate, and an injection fuel quantity calculating means. The wall flow rate calculating means calculates the wall flow rate based on the calculated upper limiting value of the wall flow rate, and the injection fuel quantity calculating means corrects the basic fuel quantity, based on the wall flow rate so as to calculate the injection fuel quantity.
