Abstract:
To appropriately suppress temperature rise of an exhaust system in accordance with a fuel octane number.
High-octane gasoline and low-octane gasoline are injected from fuel injection valves 110H, 110L provided each cylinder of an internal combustion engine 100, at an arbitrary supply proportion. In accordance with the supply proportion (octane number) of fuel, ignition timing is delayed. When excessive temperature rise of the exhaust system is prevented by increasing the fuel amount, if rich air fuel ratio misfire occurs by the increase in the fuel amount, fuel cut is performed to prevent overheating and misfire of the exhaust system of the engine.
