Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take measures against increase of a distance between a spray outline face and an electrode portion when activation control of an exhaust emission control catalyst is performed with an engine constitution in which a part of fuel spray from an injector is directed to a direction of an ignition plug positioned at a downstream side in a flowing direction, of tumble flow, and the electrode portion of the ignition plug is disposed in a range at an upper part with respect to the outline face of the fuel spray closest to the ignition plug.SOLUTION: In catalyst warming-up control, intake stroke injection and compression stroke injection are performed (upper stage in Fig. 7). During the catalyst warming-up control, a discharge timing in an electrode portion 34 is determined at a delayed angle side with respect to a compression top dead center, and expansion stroke injection is performed during the discharge timing. However, in a case when a distance between a spray outline face and the electrode portion 34 is increased, additional injection (first injection) is performed before the expansion stroke injection (second injection), and discharge (second discharge) corresponding to the expansion stroke injection, and discharge (first discharge) corresponding to the additional injection are performed (lower stage in Fig. 7).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
