Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize combustion when performing ignition in an expansion stroke for the warmup of a catalyst.SOLUTION: A control device of an internal combustion engine controls an injector 30 so as to inject a part of fuel during an expansion stroke, and controls an ignition plug 32 so as to start discharge during the expansion stoke and before a finish of fuel injection in the expansion stroke by an injector 30. In addition to this, the control device controls the injector 30 so as to inject the other part of the fuel during a compression stroke so that a layer of an air-fuel mixture whose fuel concentration is relatively higher than that of the other region is formed at a peripheral region of an electrode part 34 at a start of the discharge of the ignition plug 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
