To secure the stable strong attraction force of a lifting magnet device during the operation of the lifting magnet device and reduce the rotational speed of an engine when the operation of the lifting magnet is temporarily suspended.
This control device comprises a generator 2 for generating the attraction force of the lifting magnet device 1, an engine 4 for driving the generator 2, a low rotational speed control means having a high rotational speed control means for so controlling the rotational speed of the engine 4 as to be always kept at a predetermined high rotational speed during the lifting magnet operation, and a low rotational speed control means having a low rotational speed switch 13 operated when the lifting magnet operation is temporarily suspended and controlling the rotational speed of the engine 4 at a predetermined low rotational speed lower than the predetermined high rotational speed controlled by the high rotational speed control means when the low rotational speed switch 13 is turned on.
