PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption by a method wherein a changeover switch which is ON under a light load is installed, and in the case of the switch is ON, a vaporizer heater can not be ON while a hot water thermostat is OFF.
CONSTITUTION: A burner control device controls a firing control circuit 3 depending on outputs of a load temperature detecting circuit 5 which consists of a negative characteristic thermister 6 controlling hot water temperature and a comparator 8. When the vaporizer temperature detected by a thermistor 7 is lower than the specified temperature, the output of a comparator 21 is "H" and a magnetic relay 23 is ON to conduct to an electric heater (not shown in the illustration), because of a heater control circuit 20. An added reducing circuit 40 to the above system has a changeover switch 41 being ON under a light load and shuts off power by short-circuiting the thermistor 7 when the output of a comparator 42 is "H" while the switch 41 is ON.
