Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure which prevents unintended packets from flowing into a network in a system for a printer to access the network through a control device.SOLUTION: A control device of this invention validates or invalidates a transfer function for transferring data between an external device and an MFP 122 and transferring received data to a destination without processing the received data, in accordance with a user input. Further, upon receiving data from either the external device or the MFP 122, the control device transfers the data to the destination if the transfer function is validated, while discarding the received data if the transfer function is invalidated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
