Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the control device of a motor-driven power steering device which can surely execute a non-continuity inspection of a fail-safe relay even at rotating a steering wheel.
CONSTITUTION: When an ignition switch 14 is in ON state or OFF state, a relay contact 23c is opened, an electromagnetic clutch device 11 interposed between a motor 12 and a reduction gear 10 is mede in disconnection state, the terminal voltage Vi of the relay contact is read in a microcomputer 13, and the terminal voltage Vi and setting value Vr are compared with each other so as to inspect non-continuity abnormality of a fail-safe relay 23a. Because the clutch is disconnected at detecting abnormality, influence of generation of electromotive force in the motor 12 by rotation of a steering wheel can be avoided.
