PURPOSE: To reduce the number of works in process and work period and to improve production efficiency by recognizing the number of non-defective and defective flasks in an early period by items in accordance with the results of calculation from the min. height of a molten metal surface and pouring level.
CONSTITUTION: Decision of whether an empty flask or not is first made by a sand surface sensor 23, then whether a crushed flask or not is decided. A rod 9 of a cylinder 10 extends to bring a needle-shaped body 13 at the front end into contact with the molten metal solidified in a sprue 15 when the result of the decision is neither thereof. The value detected by a level sensor 11 is calculated by an arithmetic unit by which the decision of the non-defective article or defective article is made. The number of the non-defective flasks, the number of the defective flasks, the number of the crushed flasks, and the number of the empty flasks by items obtd. in the above-mentioned manner are stored in a microcomputer. The production efficiency is improved by the device constituted in the above-mentioned manner.
