Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable communication management using the facsimile application of a work station device by receiving and preserving image information and transferring the preserved image information by activating the facsimile communication means of the work station device at the distribution destination of image information through a virtual facsimile modem means.
SOLUTION: Network facsimile equipment FX receives and preserves the image information from transmission side facsimile equipment after the response of call incoming, and when the image information is completely received, a distribution request is issued to a work station device WS at the designated distribution destination. This distribution request reports the detection of incoming call to a facsimile application AP1 of the corresponding device WS and the AP1 sends a modem command to the equipment FX. When the modem command is received, the equipment FX transmits the preserved image information to the AP1. Thus, the P1 can receive the image information addressed to the present terminal and can appropriately manage the communication result of transmission and reception.
