Abstract:
PURPOSE:To quickly detect the abnormality of a common fuzzy control part and to switch the control to a non-fuzzy control part from the common fuzzy control part by monitoring the change of the binary level of an answer signal based on the timing error between a diagnostic clock signal and an inference routine. CONSTITUTION:A diagnostic part 3 sends a clock signal CK to a fuzzy control part 1. The level of an answer signal BK has a binary change with repetition of the inference routine as long as a diagnostic answer rule is normally carried out because a cyclic error is produced between the inference routine and the signal CK. When the abnormality occurs at the part 1, the inference routine is not carried out any more nor the signal BK is not updated any more and then fixed at one of both binary levels. When this level fixing operation continues for a prescribed time, the part 3 detects the abnormality of the part 1 and changes over a switch part 4. Thus the abnormality of the part 1 is quickly detected and the control is automatically switched to a non-fuzzy control part 2 at occurrence of the abnormality.
