To provide stable operation, without causing a signal system to have malfunctions in an electric rolling stock running on a plurality of lines which are different in frequency used in a signal system.
This controller consists of the signal system disposed in a plurality of traveling lines for the electric rolling stock, a voltage command computing means 1 computing a three-phase output voltage command to drive an inverter from the drive command of a master computer, a carrier frequency selecting means 3 selectively-commanding switching frequency, based on information about a currently-traveling line which is outputted from an electric rolling stock location detecting means 2 in response to the position thereof free from malfunction in a signal system of the line, and a PWM pulse generating means 4 for generating a PWM-modulated voltage pulse train (PWM pulse), in response to the three-phase output voltage command and a switching frequency command, thereby switching the switching frequency of the inverter to such that the frequency band of the signal system may stay out of noise generated by the inverter.
