Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure excellent drive feeling by performing optimal control of driving force distribution to front wheels and rear wheels while reflecting actual slip state without applying an excessive load to an engine.
SOLUTION: A decision is made at S103 that slip state has occurred if the front/rear differential rotation ΔFR is not lower than Δc1, and the control advances to S105 and subsequent steps. If a decision is made that the engine r.p.m. NE is not lower than a preset threshold value NEC, a decision is made that the engine output is sufficient, and the control advances to S106 where power is generated from an alternator 6 by the engine 2 depending on the front/rear differential rotation ΔFR in order to utilize excess driving force of the engine 2 for generating power from the alternator 6, and then a rear wheel driving motor 7 is driven with the power thus generated. If a decision is made that the engine r.p.m. NE is lower than the preset threshold value NEC, a decision is made that the engine output is insufficient for compensating power generation of the alternator 6 and the control advances to S107 where power generation of the alternator 6 is limited in order to suppress the load on the engine 2.
