Abstract:

To increase the durability of a second engaging element by reducing the operating frequency of power generation control that increases the load of the second engaging element.

A drive system includes an engine Eng, a first clutch CL 1, a motor/generator MG to which a battery 4 is connected, a second clutch CL 2, and driving wheels (right and left wheels RR, RL). This controller includes a mode selection unit which, when a predetermined requirement is met, selects an ENG self-standby CL 1 release mode in which it releases the first clutch CL 1 while keeping the engine Eng operating at a certain speed, makes the speed of the motor/generator MG lower than the certain speed, and keeps the second clutch CL 2 in a slip engaged state or an engaged state. When the ENG self-standby CL 1 release mode is selected, the first clutch CL 1 is engaged depending on the magnitude of the required driving force to shift to a CL 1-engaged, CL 2 slip or release generation mode generating power at the motor/generator MG by engine power.
