Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the using efficiency of the whole system by providing a means to control data record expansion which expands the data of a compressed data record to the original data of plural records, and a means to control writing to a magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:A data record compression/expansion control part 3 to compress/ expand the data and the record is connected to a magnetic disk device control part 6 and a common bus transfer control part 8 by a data bus 25, and outputs a one-record data completing signal 26. A write control part 4 inputs a one-track completing signal 23 from the data record compression/expansion control part 3 and a write control data line 24, and outputs a track switching instructing data line 21 and a one-track erasing instructing signal 22 to a magnetic disk device control part 6. Thus, without using a main memory and a host device, a data record compression restoring processing, which reduces a data transfer quantity over common bus 20 to <= 1/2, from a magnetic tape device 11 to a magnetic disk device 10 can be executed.
