PURPOSE: To control the supply air amount to a subzero unit and to stabilize the material air flow rate by maintaining a pressure of material air to be introduced into an adsorption tower at the time of the step of pressurizing the tower and controlling its flow rate.
CONSTITUTION: Moisture, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbon of material air introduced to an adsorption tank 3A and pressurized to a pressure necessary to separate by a material air compressor 2 are removed by adsorption. When one tank 3A is operating in the adsorbing step, moisture, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbon adsorbed to the other tank 3B are desorbed and regenerated by clean gas becoming unnecessary from a subzero unit. Thereafter, a control of an opening of an inlet guide base 1 of a material air compressor is switched from a constant flow rate control to a constant pressure control at a moment in which it is transferred to a pressurizing step, a discharge pressure of the compressor is so controlled as to become equal to a normal operating pressure, and a flow rate is increased. Thus, the material air can be stably supplied without adding another flow rate control system.
