PURPOSE: To correct the shape of the strip, by giving a difference to the peripheral speeds of a pair of rolls for rolling the strip on purpose to carry out the different speeds rolling, and by giving bread the ways different tensions to the strip on the feeding side (the outgoing side) of the rolling roll.
CONSTITUTION: If the edge stretch occurs in the strip 13, for instance, the oil pressure cylinder 42 is consticted, and the bracket 40 is rotated around the pin 39 as the center, the roller 37 is lifted taking the bearing part of the bracket 36 as the center so as to bring the top of the roller 37 into the horizontal state as shown by the solid line. Hereupon, the center line l1 of the roller 37 comes to a position somewhat inclined toward the downstream sode of the strip. When the strip 13 accompanying the edge stretch passes over the roller 37, the oil pressure cylinder 33 is activated so as to tightly contact the soller 37 against the drip 13. Hereby, the center line l1 is inclined toward the downstream side of the strip 13, so that the component force (p) of the tension of the strip acts on the strip 13 whose middle portion is stretched, and then, the edge stretch is corrected and the strip shape is improved.
