Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject compound capable of providing a polylactam block copolymer useful as an excellent compatible agent for a polyamide mixture having a specified structure.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is represented by the formula [A is O or -NH; R is an alkyl, aryl or the like; P is the residue of a polymer P(AH)x having a number average molecular weight of 5000 or more and OH or NH2, the polymer is selected from polyphenyleneoxide, phenoxy resin and the like; (-L-) is ring-opened lactam; (-L) is a ring-unopened lactam; (x) is 1 or more; (y) is 0 or 1]. The compound is provided by reacting a polymer having OH or NH2 with a diisocyanate locked with lactam preferably at 90-250°C in the presence of a catalyst such as Lewis acid.
