PURPOSE: To carry out safe conveyance and stopping so that reconveyance is made smooth, with the use of a stopper device for a conveyor for devices in an assembling line, by positioning a brake pressure adjustable brake plate before a stopper such that the brake plate is released, simultaneously with the release of the stopper.

CONSTITUTION: A carrier plate 3 which is transferred on a line conveyor 1, is subjected to a brake pressure by a brake plate 13 in each station 2 so that the carrier plate 3 is decelerated, and comes to a stop when it abuts against a stopper 14. This pressure may be steppedly increased by means of a compression srping 21 when a bolt 19 in an adjusting device 15 is screwed forward in association with the advance of the station 2. Upon reconveyance air is introduced into a cylinder 31 to lower piston 32 so that the lowering of the stopper 41 is made simultaneously with the pull-down of the brake plate to restart the conveyance. With this arrangement conveyance, stopping and reconveyance may be facilitated.
