PURPOSE: To provide a cooking apparatus which can select not only the heating of the surface of an object to be cooked but also the heating of its inside to any desired degree.

CONSTITUTION: Meat 14 is placed on an iron plate 12, and a thermocouple 16 is plunged into the meat 14. When heating of this iron plate 12 is started, the temp. rise inside of the meat 14 is sensed, and a microcomputer 19 predicts its thickness. Because the roasting workmanship is selected with a knob 18 among the heating data prepared in advance, the microcomputer 19 controls the temp. in conformity to the heating data, and the meat 14 is cooked optimally as desired.
