Abstract:
To improve the thermal stability of a copolyamide containing polyhexamethylene adipamide as a main component, especially to inhibit the generation of gels and the generation of spherulites in the copolyamide, and especially to improve the continuous batch polymerizability of the copolyamide.
This copolyamide comprises 80-99.5 mol.% of hexamethylene adipamide units and 0.5-20 mol.% of amide units comprising a diamine and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid except adipic acid, and the ratio of the carboxyl group concentration [COOH](μmol/g) of the copolyamide to its amino group concentration [NH2](μmol/a) satisfies the inequality: 0.7≤[COOH]/[NH2]≤10.
