Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily expanding an ordinary aliphatic/ aromatic copolyester resin at a high expansion ratio, without increasing the melt viscosity of the resin.
SOLUTION: The aliphatic/aromatic copolyester resin, a foaming agent and a fatty acid compound are melted/mixed in an extruder, and in succession, the mixture is cooled below the melting point of the resin. Further, the mixture is extruded from an extruder while it is as yet in a fluid state and expanded.
