PURPOSE: To obtain an isocyanatosilicone compd. which can be copolymerized with a thermoplastic resin contg. active hydrogen substituents to give a compsn. which generates a reduced amt. of smoke when burned and is excellent in impact resistance by reacting a specific siloxane, etc., with an alkenyl isocyanate compd. under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: Monofunctional SiH-contg. siloxanes corresponding to formulas I to IV [wherein MH is an SiH-contg. siloxane group; M is an R3SiO1/2 (wherein R is a monovalent hydrocarbon group); D is an R2SiO2/2; and X is an integer of 1 or higher] are mixed with an alkenyl isocyanate compd. The resultant mixture is subjected to reaction in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst to give the objective compsn. contg. units of formulas V to VIII [wherein M' is a monofunctional siloxane group of the formula; R'aRbSiO1/2 (wherein R' is an alkenyl isocyanate group; a is 1-3; and b is 0-2 provided a+b is 3)].
