Title:
COPOLYMER, ITS PRODUCTION AND COATING FOR PREVENTING AQUATIC ORGANISM FROM ATTACHING CONTAINING THE SAME COPOLYMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3368618
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a copolymer, containing a rosin skeleton in the molecule and capable of maintaining preventing effects on attachment and propagation of aquatic organisms for a long period with hardly any effects on the environment.
CONSTITUTION: The copolymer has a unit expressed by the formula (R is rosin skeletal residue) and a unit expressed by the formula A (A is ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable with maleic anhydride or the maleic anhydride and the ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable therewith) and contains a constituent unit expressed by the formula in an amount of 20-50mol% based on the whole constituent unit thereof. This copolymer is produced by reacting a maleic anhydride-based copolymer with a rosin amine and imidating the anhydride ring in the copolymer. The coating for preventing aquatic organisms from attaching contains this copolymer. The copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer is preferably used in an amount of 50-80 pts.mol based on 30-50 pts.mol maleic anhydride.
