Abstract:
To provide a method for the coproduction of the subject two compounds from 3-methyl-1,3-butanediol in high yield and productivity.
This method comprises as follows: using sulfuric acid or an organic sulfonic acid as catalyst, its concentration in a reaction liquor is set at 10-500 ppm, and the total concentration of the aimed two compounds in the reaction liquor is kept at ≤1.2 wt.% and a reaction is carried out while distilling the above two compounds off the reaction system.
