Abstract:
To provide a broadcast receiver that can execute a function with a higher added value.SOLUTION: A broadcast receiver can receive a digital broadcast service, and comprises: a broadcast receiving unit that receives broadcast waves of the digital broadcast service; a separation unit that separates, from the received broadcast waves, coded program video data, program cooperation data, and screen layout control information which are related to at least a broadcast program; a video decoding unit that decodes the encoded program video data and plays back program video information; a cooperation information generation unit that generates program cooperation information by interpreting the program cooperation data; a presentation processing unit that, in accordance with the screen layout control information, can divide a video display area as appropriate, arrange the program video information and the program cooperation information in the areas obtained through the division as appropriate, and output data in the video display area as video information; a display unit that displays the video information; an operation input unit that receives input of a user's operation instruction; and a control unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7A
