PURPOSE: To eliminate the trouble of original taking-out operation accompanying stop switch operation during copying operation by monitoring the operation of a stop button after an original is fed in, and discharging the original to a discharge tray after copying to a form being copied is copied completely.

CONSTITUTION: When the original 4 begins to be laid with a copy operation switch, a central processor 20 starts monitoring the operation of a stop switch 23. Then, when the stop switch 23 is operated at the end of the laying of the original 4, it is judged whether the copying operation of the form being copied is completed or not and when so, the original 4 is discharged to the discharge tray 10 on condition that the copying operation is completed. Therefore, even when the stop switch 23 is operated during the copying operation, the original need not be taken out manually and the trouble is eliminated.
