Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light weight extendable/shrinkable cord with good usability, which is hardly entwined and disconnected.
SOLUTION: In the state that a predetermined tension is applied to one or a plurality of elastic fibers 11, a metal wire is braided at a predetermined density along an outer periphery of the elastic fiber 11 and is covered with a braiding 12. When a tension is applied to the extendable/shrinkable cord 10, the elastic fiber 11 and the braiding 12 are extended and when the tension is released, the elastic fiber 11 and the braiding 12 shrink to the original length. Even if bending stress and tension area applied, since the extendable/shrinkable cord 10 is elastically deformed, mechanical strength such as bending strength and tensile strength is large.
