Title:
CORNER RIDGE TILE HAVING BOTH UNDER LAPS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004316160
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve the following problems of a conventional corner ridge tile having both under laps: each of the first and second under laps has a short length compared with that of each of first and second main tile portion at a tail end of the tile so that rainwater infiltration from the short under lap portion causes leakage; and each under lap has no engaging projection or the like on a rear surface thereof so that the durability of roofed tiles is degraded and backlash of the tiles arises.

According to a new corner ridge tile, first and second under laps are formed along insertion-side edges of first and second tile main bodies, for crawling under rear surfaces of overlaps of pantiles adjacent thereto, respectively, and tail-side flashing projections and insertion-side flashing projections are formed on a tail side and insertion sides of first and second under lap surfaces, respectively. Then a head-side nib of the tile main body is cut away to form a head cutaway portion, and a tail-side end of the same is notched to form a tail notch portion, whereby the tail notched portion, and the first and second under lap tail edges define an approximately inverted trapezoid as viewed in a plan. Further each of the first and second under lap rear surface tail ends has a crosspiece engaging hook formed thereon. Thus the corner ridge tiles are laterally equally bound to prevent water leakage and improve the earthequake resistance.
