PURPOSE: To provide a simple gravure correcting method by laying a negative for gravure, a diffusion sheet, a contact screen and a lith type film in this order in a contact state, forming a positive for offset by exposure and development, and carrying out expected correction using offset prints formed with an offset printing plate.
CONSTITUTION: A negative for gravure is formed from a positive with continuous gradation for gravure through a negative type gravure contact screen. The contact screen, a diffusion sheet and the negative are successively superposed on the surface of the photosensitive emulsion of a lith type film, and exposure is carried out from the negative side. The lith type film is developed, stopped and fixed to form a positive for offset. The diffusion sheet has an effect of moderately diffusing transmitted light. The positive for offset is a halftone positive with a density range, density gradation and a dot image suitable for the formation of an offset printing plate by contact with a plate material for offset and by exposure, and the resulting offset prints can almost faithfully reproduce the tone of the original.
