Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correction method of the lens distortion of an image for accurately correcting the lens distortion of the image by automatically and accurately obtaining internal parameters using all points on an image (3) without necessitating giving corresponding points (1) and without using special tools and objects (2).
SOLUTION: The correction method of the lens distortion of an image comprises an image-printing step (A) for printing an arbitrary image I1 in a computer, an image pickup step (B) for obtaining a shot image I2 in the computer by picking up the printed image I1 using a camera having lens distortion, a parameter estimation step (C) for obtaining a parameter θ where a distorted image I1ud obtained by artificially distorting the image I1 using the parameter θmatches with the shot image I2, and an image correction step (D) for correcting the shot image of the camera using the obtained parameter θ.
