Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effect reliable corrosion-resistant coating of a metallic structure with good workability, by wrapping a cloth impregnated with a corrosion-resistant compsn. around the surface of a metallic structure, and sealing the overlapped part of the end of the cloth by using a cold-setting non-sagging resin compsn.

CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. curable resin such as an epoxy resin, 25W100pts.wt. Rardener such as a polyamide and 50W100pts.wt. sag-proofing material such as finely divided silica are blended together to obtain a cold setting non-sagging resin compsn. which is then used. A cloth 2 impregnated with a corrosion-resistance compsn. (composed mainly of non-drying petrolatum) is wrapped around the surface of a metallic structure 1. The end of the cloth is coated with said resin compsn. The overlapped end part is slightly pressed to bond it until a curing reaction proceeds, whereby a firmly fixed end part is formed.
