To provide a corrosion-resistant luster pigment capable of being used as a substitute for a luster pigment for which aluminum flakes are used, having an outward appearance similar to that of chrome electroplating, capable of responding to a need for a new pigment of which the brightness and the color tone are required to be controlled, and capable of giving a film having excellent corrosion resistance and chemical resistance.
The method for producing the corrosion-resistant luster pigment includes a process for obtaining flaky alloy pieces by forming an alloy film comprising Sn and at least one kind of metal selected from a group consisting of Cu, Cr, Ti, and Ni on a surface of a base plate, through a dry film-forming procedure, separating the alloy film from the base plate, and pulverizing the alloy film, so that the obtained flaky alloy pieces have a surface reflection coefficient of 10-95% with irradiation of light having a wavelength of 550 nm.
