Abstract:
PURPOSE: A cosmetic base mainly composed of a cation-modified starch having high quaternary nitrogen atom content.
CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic base mainly composed of a cation-modified starch containing 1W5 wt% of quaternary nitrogen atom, obtained by the reaction of glycidyl trialkyl-ammonium salt of 3-halogeno-2-hydroxypropyl trialkylammonium salt with potato starch such as sweet starch, wheat starch etc., or a soluble starch prepared by the acid hydrolysis of starch.
EFFECT: When used as a base of shampoo, rinse, etc., it leaves a pleasant feeling to the skin or hair after being washed away, and when used as a base of a skin- care cosmetic such as cream, milky lotion, etc., the pleasant feeling lasts for a long time.
