To solve the problem that a cotton swab, keeping cotton masses at both ends of a stick shaft and meeting the same specification on both sides divided by the center of the shaft, has a fault that discrimination of the used side from the unused side is difficult when the cotton swab is used again after only one cotton mass is used to remove ear waxes or to apply a liquid or after the cotton swab is dropped onto a floor.

The problem is solved by providing a cotton swab keeping one side (1) colored differently from the other side (2) or one cotton mass (3) differently colored from the other cotton mass (4).
